The Pilot Project of Stabilization Support Services

The US Census Bureau report (2022) shows 10.3% of Ray County’s population have no health insurance. The suicide rate in Missouri is 18.7% and greater than the national average of 14.04%. SNS will launch a 90-day pilot mental health program to assist adults that are mentally decompensating for stabilization in 12 weeks.

The overdose crisis has left no community untouched. Our community will benefit from coordinated treatment for recovery from opioid use and specialized approaches to reduce relapse among individuals returning from detention. We believe that without our project, this community will be deprived of a facility where the uninsured can receive 90 days of mental health services at no cost, receive health assessments at no cost, participate in therapy at no cost, and be linked to generic services, such as housing and employment. The Sequential Intercept Model Mapping Project by Missouri Governor Michael Parsons for Ray County identified mental health critical services to be a gap in the system of care in Ray County. SNS, along with Licensed Professional Counselor Robert Cox and the Salvation Army, is developing Stabilization Support Services to meet this need.
